This StoryMap explores the pervasive issue of fast fashion's environmental and social impacts through an engaging visual narrative. I recently started getting into fashion and I wanted to delve into the unsustainable practices that drive fast fashion, from the overuse of water and chemicals in textile production to the massive amounts of waste generated by discarded clothing. I wanted to understand if my money was being used to support manufacturing and waste disposal to underscore the stark contrast between the economic benefits for producers and the environmental toll on many communities. Through interactive maps, infographics, and compelling storytelling, I wanted to call for greater awareness and action to adopt more sustainable practices in the fashion industry, urging consumers and corporations to rethink their relationship with fashion.
